“Maîtres impressionistes et modernes”, Paris, Galerie Daniel Malingue, May 18 - July 8 1989.

Here begins the writing of the impossible, “each of my paintings differs from the previous one”. Vertical-to-horizontal reversal for many formats.

“I'm always striving to push back my limits.”

Symmetries are multiplied, inversions, impressions, reflections, chiaroscuro, and knots are organized in whole families, diversifying the subject matter, depositing a thousand combinations, a combinatory of innumerable quotients and infinite indexes.

Here, in particular, and in the series that follows, the shadows in the foreground stand out in contrasting asymmetries against the colored backgrounds, forming chiaroscuro.
